Goulburn Community Health Centre

I have attempted to make an appointment to see the diabetic educator at this facility on two occasions by telephone. The first occasion (3 weeks ago) I was told I need a doctor's referral. As I was going to see my endocrinologist in the following week, I obtained same. I rang this morning to make an appointment with the diabetic educator and was told that I need to get my latest blood tests and drop these and the referral into the centre where someone will look at them and get back to me with an appointment. I live 60 kms from the centre and this will necessitate my paying for another doctor's appointment to get the blood tests and driving 240kms to actually get to see her. This is more arduous than arranging to see a specialist doctor and seems entirely ridiculous to me. I am peeved that I wasn't told of the blood test requirement last time I rang and I don't see why I couldn't just bring both documents to the appointment.
