Dry Needling utilises a solid filament needle, as used in the practice of acupuncture and relies on the stimulation of specific reactions in the target tissue for its therapeutic effect by the needling of myofascial trigger points. Trigger point dry needling requires highly specialised training. Few medical professionals are trained in the evaluation of trigger points.
