Govindas Restaurant

Unique concept having a restaurant and movie house in the one place. A friend organised an event to be held here, and we bought tickets to support her cause. It was fun and funky to lie on the mattresses upstairs and watch the film ( I'm getting old, so it was hard to get up at the end). But the screen was big and the quality was good. We later went down stairs and ate a delicious vegetarian meal, all you can eat from the buffet. I think that a la carte dining is also an option, but we had a separate area near the buffet. Very tasty indeed. The only other thing I would say is, i imagine it is quite tricky to navigate the stairs here so if you or your dining companion have mobility issues, phone ahead to discuss, i could not see a lift, though perhaps there's a secret one !

You are what you eat and Govinda's Vegitarian buffet ensures you can eat a delicious variety of pure Indian influenced vegetarian cuisine. They consistently offer delicious Dhal soups, bakes, curries and Salads. I've had so many great experiences at Govinda's I highly recommend it for a fun night out. The Movie Room is really comfortable and the best place to relax and digest after a yummy dinner. I recommend arriving early for dinner so there is plenty of time to have a great dinner before the movie.

Cool experience. And clever to include a movie and dinner package. The food was yum (even for a non vegetarian). Pretty good value for money.

As a fan of arthouse films, Govinda's often has something I would like to see. I also love the veggie buffet afterwards, even though I am not a vegetarian.

the concept (casual dinner followed by lying down for a movie) is great although i am not a fan of vegetarian food. also, not everyone gets to lie down (i would have been annoyed if that was me) and the chairs didnt look very comfortable!
