We have now worked out that a Monday night is the only night that my girlfriends and I can catch up for a nice dinner out without any other commitments interferring. All very well but where do you go on a Monday night where you can be assured of a great meal given that for a lot of restaurants it is their one and only night off. A quick scan of my 'must go there soon' list and I spy an oldie but a goodie - The Grand Hotel - a sure winner and open 7 nights a week. We arrive, seven of us in total and are seated. Our waiter approaches the table to explain the menu - the girls are mesmerised - he is speaking English with the most gorgeous French accent and although most can't understand what he is saying they don't interrupt for fear he will stop speaking!
