Great bread, but get in early, especially for their yummy multigrain loaf. They have the best pies going around, just get their plain meat pie and enjoy.
However, their sausage rolls could use a lot more meat, I think they are trying to get away with no meat in them, which of course means, no flavour. Also the pastry was hard like they had been in the oven too long. This is a small complaint, because their sweet pastries are awesome.
Unfortunately the prices are a more than most bakeries, the bread costing more than expected, and the rolls were nearly $1 each, instead of the .60 I'm used to paying at other bakeries. The drinks were also noticeably more than you would expect to pay, being $1 more in some instances, this may not seem that much, but when you have a family, it can become very expensive. Disappointed
An above-average bakery, located in Grantville along the Bass Highway. Grantville Bakehouse boasts a large menu of standard, reasonably-priced bakery fare, and was pleasantly busy without being too crowded. There are plentiful seats and tables both inside and outside, and staff were very helpful, kindly indulging my request to inspect their pizza rolls (which I discovered were adequately topped, fresh and delicious!). My only complaints are that the decor is very unappealing (the floor, although clean appeared filthy due to the fact that it is warehouse-style varnished concrete), one has to cross the road to get to the nearest toilets, and it was very, very echoey inside the bakery, such that every kid's squeal of delight was magnified intensely. But nonetheless, if I'm out that way again, I shall return to Grantville Bakehouse, and recommend it to everyone else.
