This PO suggested that my birth certificate was not valid simply on the basis that it was "fancy" when I've had it for as long as I've been alive? and plenty of other people that I had spoken to had their "colourful" certificates accepted as a primary proof of identity document. Inconsistent? I think yes and when I obtained my driver's license I also used that same birth certificate. Were there any issues? No. And the fact that the employee insinuated that my birth certificate was invalid was very offensive to me especially since I am 100% Australian born. And yes I could've used a passport? But does that make my birth certificate any less credible? I am thoroughly irritated and disappointed.
