Great Barrier Reef Airport - Hamilton Island

The local airport on Hamilton island services 45 commercial flights a week and is the lifeline of hamilton island and nearby resorts.
Qantas and Virgin fly daily to the island, you collect your bags in 'sessions' as they allow you to access the trolleys with the bags which you then pull off. The buses are waiting but considering they can only take 16 people at a time it gets busy and people get pushy. Buses come about every 5 mins though so it isn't really too long a wait.

Make sure you head to your hotel's airport reception area to tag your bags as once they are on the bus it is then sent straight to your room.
