Do not engage this company even if you live in the city. I had my install on the 22nd May 2013 and it did not go to plan or as per our Sales Contract. They put the panels and the inverter in the wrong location. They drilled a hole in two internal walls to connect the power (sub meter board inside), they joined the two holes by a grey PVC elbow and RAN AWAY. I had to clean up their mess, ends of cables, smoke butts, threaded rod, etc., was left scattered around for me to clean up. It is now eight weeks since my install and I am still waiting for the damage to my internal walls to be repaired. They would not get any tools out until we discussed how I was going to pay. But I have been waiting for eight weeks, numerous e-mails, telephone calls with no response. Their system is great, BUT THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and if you do complainm you will get the Management on the phone. I did visit their office last week and I was told that they repaired my ...read more
I think you need to review your facts, the acidental damage was repaired promptly however not to your standard. This was acknoledged and you were also compensated for the damages as per negotiations. I think it is also worthwhile noteing that the installers on your job do not smoke so leaving butts at your property is not possible. In addition you have never mentioned anything about the installers leaving your property in an untidy manner.
Chickenshop, thank you for your response, as this is the first time that Great Solar have done anything. Let me state some glaringly obvious FACTS. The damage was not accidental, technician knew full well what they were doing. Technician did the damage to two of my internal walls and walked off, without a word. A Staff rang me the next week regarding my installation and was the only one that did anything. Not even my telephone call and pictures sent to the management's mobile, did anything happen, it took over two days for them to respond. I had five, yes five, Great Solar representatives come out and take a look and all five said that the walls should have been re-painted to blend in, but then your management told me that I did the damage myself and also the other verbal abuse I received from them, we are talking no more than three square meters. I was not involved in any negotiations of monetary compensation, to this day, I want my walls painted.
I still have the threaded rod that they left in the driveway and I am sorry to say, I know of a few people who smoke and their employer is not aware. In fact, I worked for a Company for twelve years and the first ten they did not realise I was a smoker even though I was doing right under their noses. I never mentioned the mess that the installers left, as I have two arms and two legs and cleaned it up myself, my priority was getting my internal two walls and my external wall fixed whilst I was still on Annual Leave. In fact, I wasted the last three days of my Annual Leave running around after Great Solar, as you are too incompetent to do anything. As you have not identified yourself, I am presuming that you have not been to the complex that I live in, to ascertain, that there are several witnesses to this FACT. You gave me a cheque for $225.00 where the repairs was $300.00.
Do not engage with this organisation if you live outside of the urban area (I don't know what they are like in the city area). I responded to an advertisement in the local paper in May 2012 urging people to have a system installed before the end of June 2012. I rang, confirmed that they agreed to install a system before the end of June and paid a $1,000.00 deposit. After paying the deposit, they then sent me terms and conditions, which my solicitor says are of no value as they were not part of the original, verbal agreement. I phoned in July after they failed to show. They sent me a letter in August crying supply difficulties, I faxed them a letter in October to cancel the contract requesting refund of the deposit, but they denied ever receiving the fax (despite having discussed the issue with them while they had the in their hand) and promised to install the system on the 8th of November. They didn't show and still cried supply difficulties while all the local installers are ...read more
Update: After I sent a Final Notice through Courts Administration, I received a phone call promising to refund my deposit.
