Greater Union Cinemas

This is my local cinema. Easy to get parking for whatever time of day, and the cinemas are well maintained and kept tidy. Ticket prices are competitive with other cinemas also.

Visit this cinema relatively frequently. It has unfortunately been plagued by Maquarie-center-renovations for the past year or so! Not usually an issue but there was one movie where there was the gentle hum of jack hammers complimenting the sound track!!

Plenty of parking in the multi level complex parking lot. Top level is most convenient as there is a direct cinema entry. Cinemas seem reasonably new and nicely maintained.

Last Saturday afternoon we attempted to see an afternoon movie. There was a technical difficulty and after sitting in the cinema waiting for 20 minutes we were told the movie had to be cancelled and were issued free movie passes to compensate. Whilst this situation was obviously not ideal staff were very professional and kept us well informed.

the seats are comfortable. the sounds are surreal. it's less crowded that other cinema. thumbs up!

Gold class here is quite a treat. Luckily I was given vouchers and didn't have to pay, because as has been said below... its an expensive experience. Even with gift vouchers you have to pay a booking fee to reserve your seats, and the food and drink options are limited and very dear. On the plus side though, it really does make you feel spoilt. The seats are SO comfy and recline all the way back. And the staff do treat you like a celebrity.

Greater Union at north ryde, is a great place to meet friends. They have a gold class cinema, unlike many others, however i personally dont think the cost is really worth the food you get. Its good however, also to be near shops, for dinner/lunch.
