This was a pretty decent pub that happens to be on the outskirts of Coffs Harbour. As such it is probably more for the locals than for the travellers that happen to pass through the town. Still, I didn’t mind it. In fact, I quite liked it, even if it was because of the nice beer garden, and the fact that is was surrounded by some lush trees and bushes – it certainly gave the pub some charm. Okay, while it didn’t have a great selection of tap beers, it was still rather nice.
We are a family of 4 with boys aged 6 and 8 and thought this place might suit us for an evening meal and a place to chill out while the kids played.
Boy were we WRONG !
The kids play areas were dirty and unwelcoming.
We ordered the meal at 7pm and waited.... waited..... waited. At 7;45 we asked where it was as they said it was being plated up. The little buzzer thing they give you to alert you the meal was ready to be picked up went off at 7:55pm. The place was only half full! I'd hate to be here if it ever got busy.
We ordered the frittata, chicken schnitzel, kids pizza and kids kebabs. The food wad served cold and tasteless. We left half of it on the plate and left. I don't understand why the food was cold when it was supposedly being played up !
Interestingly on the way out we noticed numerous other orders half eaten and left on the plates.
