There are quite a few inaccuracies in the review by Jojostuff. First, the baths are NOT privately owned, they are actually part of Lane Cove Council's recreation facilities. Yes, you do have to pay to use the baths. Main reason is because the sand is imported. It's a harbour beach or bay, not the Parramatta River...the river is close by, but it is still the harbour here, and it is more accurate to say Greenwich is at the junction of the harbour and the Lane Cove River.
The nippers program does not run "all weekend" , it seems the races were on when she was visiting but that does not mean it was all weekend. The facilities are nicely maintained (they are operated by a private company) and if you do want just a coffee you can drink that and avoid paying the entry fee. They had their own moonlight cinema screenings a few times last Summer, not sure what the plan is for next Summer, unfortunately it was cancelled once due to rain. Worth a look if ...read more

I love this tiny beach. It's privately owned, so you pay a small entry fee to enter. Tucked away in Greenwich, it's along the Parramatta River with views over to the city.

The beach is really designed for young families -- it is gated and there is some shade cover from the trees at certain times of the day. There are toilets and showers (with warm water), tables and deck chairs, as well as an assortment of kids beach toys. The kiosk also sells reasonably priced food like fish and chips, coffee, gelato and other small snacks and meals.

It's a hit on weekdays with the local mums, but don't bother coming on a weekend. They run Little Nippers, and the entire beach is packed.

I've only recently discovered this hidden beach on the North Shore. It's really nice for the kids and has a great family feel. The cafe also does good coffee which is a nice bonus.
