If you're after a great feed of excellent Vietnamese food you can't beat it. Yes, it is noisy, the decor is crap - but - we have been going back for many many years (now the children of the owners are serving there). Guaranteed a great meal and good service. If you can't decide just say "Feed Me". BYO with a handy bottle shop at the IGA. Try it at lest once.
I was thrilled to read all the good reviews for this place and excited to finally can walk in the place to try the food yesterday. It was first disappointed with no pho or noodle soup menus. Then came down with no fresh chili! The meals was bland, plain and dry. Out of 4 menus we order, only 1 that is acceptable and it was also just average. The place should only be rated 2 stars based on my experience
It's noisy and tacky - we describe it as "early period formica" but it's also the best Vietnamese food outside of Ho Chi Minh city. Don't bother with the menu, simply ask the helpful waiters to bring you "what's good out of the kitchen" - but it's a must that you ask for the garlic rice, not the straightforward steamed stuff!
The combination of BYO - great food - attentive service make this one of the best "casual night's out" that you can have in Canberra.
Don't expect damask table cloths and dim lights - this is a vibrant, noisy restaurant where the focus is good food at great prices.
