Doing Dementia DifferentlyAt Group Homes Australia you can be assured that we offer the best quality care available, in a warm, friendly and safe environment. We specialise in high care, palliative and respite care and were independently benchmarked by Alzheimer's Australia as best in class in every area of dementia care against over 80 competitors.
GHA is the first model of its kind in Australia and focuses on creating a non-institutionalised way of living that emphasises the resident's abilities rather than their disabilities. The homes look, feel and smell like traditional houses on traditional streets.
Each home has trained staff on site 24/7 and approximately 1 member of staff to every 3 residents. Our staff are dementia and aged care trained nurses, who we call homemakers. They are supported by a full allied health team who visit each home as required.
Our homemakers support and assist residents with their daily needs and activities, and there are no fixed routines or nursing trolleys. Our residents are encouraged to be engaged in shopping, baking and gardening... the full range of gentle tasks that bring a sense of purpose in a normal home. We actively welcome friends and family to come and visit, stay for a cup of tea and sample our latest baking.
We have homes across Sydney, including in Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Waverley, St Ives and Warriewood. Please get in touch with us to arrange a tour of one of our homes and see the difference for yourself. ...read more
I did hours and hours of research into options for my father and i was very happy when i found this place. Their model of care is unique and every person that we came into contact was warm, respectful &professional. If you are looking for an alternative to the traditional aged care options - its a good place to check out. my family can only say positive things about the place and the people! My dad is super well looked after.

My mum has high level dementia , I could not be more grateful to them for helping us through such a difficult time.
My wife Terry was a resident with Group Homes Australia for 18 months. She has a very progressive case of early onset Alzheimer's and requires a very high level of care. The reasons for this have never been explained properly to me but most certainly relate to a specific incident where I acted with the best intentions for another resident's medical wellbeing. The manner in which the ceo and her colleagues spoke with and dealt with me and my wife was disgraceful and disappointing given that my wife desperately needed their care. An example being that I was told that if I could not find alternate care then I could take her back home...something they knew I simply could not do. Based on the lack of care and emotion shown towards my ...read more
