Gum Do Chinese Restaurant

Gum Do? Gum Don't!!!!! My children and I popped in for a quick mid-week lunch. We had no expectations - we were just starving so frankly anything half decent would have been great. Dreadful though. Cheap, tough cuts of meat, horribly MSG soaked sauces, grey looking meat and tons and tons of cheap yukky chinese cabbage in everything. Not cheap either - at around $13 a plate, it really should have tried harder. Will not go back and if I were you I wouldn't either - GUM DON'T.

Hard working family business. Good price and serving size. Had better in China Town but no complaints. Old school shop. Worth a look. You will either like it or not. I DO! :-)

Have bought take away here lots of times, it's ok, cheap enough but very Australian with loads of celery and capsicum. Last time they forgot the sauce on the sweet and sour prawns and when I told them, they told me to come back and get it! When i said no, too late, they said ok we'll give you a free meal next time, but when I asked for another prawn next time they argued about giving me prawns! This time I ordered a sweet and sour and got a mongolian, when I rang to tell them they told me I could come back, at first she asked if we had touched the meal (what, you want it back?) of course we touched it to serve it before we realised was the wrong meal. This time I got back in the car in my pjamas with my young son drove 15 mins back to get the correct meal and then was told are you sure you didn't make the mistake, you're the same person where there was a mistake last time (yes you forgot the sauce people not me), we wouldn't make this mistake. We've been ordering takeaway here every week for over 2 years. The food is great, cheap and the serving sizes are large enough to take leftovers for lunch the next day. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. Highly recommended!!

Great food at an affordable price. I often buy food from here because the prices are so good and the food is excellent. It's definitely one of the best chinese restaurants out there.
