Hakea Prison

I had been homeless for a week when I was sent to Hakea and I got a nice bed and had warm water for showers topped by free meals every freakin day. The food is better than what most Tax payers eat in their houses. Most staff were very professional and the line between prisoner and officer was not crossed. Staff really made my jail easy ofcourse there are some overzealous officers whom I felt like punching in the mouth. Hakea has a lot of activities too.
As much as I enjoyed my 5 months there I can confidently say I won't be returning there anytime too.

A terrible prison. Rude staff that don't care about the prisoners basic human rights. Filthy cells full of cockroaches. Impossible to get doctors appointments and they constantly don't give you your medications for days. A place of incompetence and neglect. Cells with leaking taps that never get fixed. Basically a dilapidated hole of incompetence and neglect. An utter disgrace that should be shut down. Absolutely a total failure of the government

Trying to get through to reception to either being the line is busy or itll just ring without anyone answering! Very frustrating.
I have rung almost 5 times to being either hung up on or not even getting through i will not stop calling!

Free meals every day, clean rooms and 24/7 security doesn't get much more professional got a room mate that I love to death and he even does my laundry for me, bad reception but foxtel works a treat would recommend

Staff here not very helpfull took ages to get a booking room wasnt clean room service was a joke.
