As one of the patrons said when I was sitting out in the beer garden, I had picked the wrong time to come here for a quiet drink. The place was absolutely packed, though this was because there was a meeting of the local Liberal Party here (and from what I gathered it was a fairly important meeting – they were selecting a candidate). I've been here before mind you, and fortunately it doesn't get as crowded as it did that day. Anyway this is a pretty classy establishment with a really nice beer garden. They also have a couple of classy dining rooms out the back. The thing that I noticed though was the large number of craft beers on tap. I'm not really sure if this is a craft-beer bar because I didn't get the opportunity to move around (it was too crowded) however I'd probably come and check it out again sometime.
We went for a few beers and the beer was cold and the service quick. The story changed when we ordered food !
I had the italian sausage pizza which was undercooked and had no topping - must have fallen out in the box. My friend had steak which turned out to be 2 wafer thin minute steaks with no flavour. The waitress asked how was our meal and we shared some feedback. She said she was sorry but we got no feedback from anyone else and the care factor was zero. A bit later, we told someone waiting to order not to have the steak - wow - the management engaged then. My friend was approached by the manager, the chef and the bouncer and told not to complain or leave immediately. We finished our drinks and left. Poor food, terrible management who clearly have no regard for customers once they have paid for overpriced bland food, Go somewhere else !
Couldn't agree more. Worst place on Church Street. Avoid and go somewher else. The food is expensive forvwhat you get and the service is lousy. In particular the excessively zealous door staff leave a lot to be desired. They have no concept of customer.
