Well, it looks as if this place has since reopened and is now a craft-beer/cider bar. I do remember coming here a few years back and it wasn't all that impressive (though they do have tables out on the pedestrian area) however it appears that it has been given a new lease of life with a new identity. Not only is there the trendy bar, but it also appears to have its own coffeeshop, and a restaurant out the back (though both were closed when I was here). The bartender was really friendly, and they have a collection of speciality beers/ciders on that which not only were all South Australian, but pretty cheap as well. Definitely one of those places that I would visit again. As for the atmosphere
This place will have to seriously pull its socks up if it wants to compete within the precinct it is located. The bar is not fully stocked although they try to carry some of the more local brews and that is a plus. Food entrees consist of 2 breads and 2 potato selections and are way over priced. Mains look like they belong only in a country pub or workmans club menu - no imagination but are reasonably priced and are well cooked. The sweets were disgusting and need to be wiped off the face of the earth -Better not to offer sweets at all. What was really worrying though was being served by kids who have not reached high school yet. Touted as a family business I think this is just child labour and I was really uncomfortable with it. Especially when I watched one youngster carry drinks from the bar. If you can't afford staff should you really be in business??
