Hanging Rock Reserve is approximately an hour out from inner Melbourne, an easy drive on the freeway. It's the perfect place for a BBQ with a bunch of mates or a get-together with the family! The reserve has plenty of room to kick a footy, a number of sitting areas with BBq's (which are thankfully undercover!), a creek to attempt to catch something and of course Hanging Rock.
I highly recommend climbing the rock, it takes just under an hour to go all the way through but the views are fantastic! Once you've acheived the rock definately head into the Hanging Rock Picnic Cafe for a much needed icypole and/or cold drink! An enjoyable day out!
