The vibe in this place is absolutely cranking whether you go to Hanoi Hannah for lunch or dinner. You'll be crammed into a tiny space, on a rather small table, but that's all in the spirit of Hanoi - right?
Food wise, think fresh and vibrant flavours - pho is flavoursome (one of the better ones off Victoria Street, Abbotsford), the rice paper rolls fill you up and taste amazing (the sashimi tuna is what food dreams are made of) and the sliders are more substantial if that's what you need.
Head to Express Lane (down the street) for takeaway if you don't feel like dealing with crowds.
The verdict is good - fresh, fast food and a good vibe - you're as likely to see a pack of friends here as corporate groups knocking off early for a long Friday lunch.
The parting word: don't dawdle with ordering or eating when you get there. This is meant to be a good time not a long time!
Fantastic Vietnamese food in a cool, funky spot. The spring rolls are awesome! (try them all- they are all good) The chicken Pho was wonderful. It's a busy, trendy spot with great food. It was ear-splittingly noisy the night we went and the music was very loud. I don't know why so many restaurants turn up the music as the evening wears on when everyone is obviously uncomfortable.
A very popular small Vietnamese restaurant. With a little cramp rustic-vintag-y interior, music played out loud, funkily dressed waiting staff, a bar complete with cocktails, wine etc and some non-alcoholic drinks such as the popular fresh coconut and slushies. The atmosphere is happy, upbeat and fast-paced. Prices are reasonable and food is ok, well presented.
