Hao Phong

My go-to restaurant whenever I'm in Footscray and looking for a satisfying meal with my partner. They're known for their Vietnamese and Chinese dishes here. Reasonably priced with plenty of seating either in the front or at the back (larger groups). My favourite dish here would be their Com Tam Bi Dac Biet (special broken rice - contains egg, rice, grilled pork chop, meat loaf, pickles) which is a staple in almost all Vietnamese restaurants. Their version is the best I've tried in Melbourne, but don't believe me, try it yourself! ;)

This place can't go wrong! Most of their menu is quite good, I love to eat Bun Bo Hue here, also their broken rice dish is great. Make sure you ask for a bowl of free soup to accompany any rice dish you order. Most places will give you a free bowl of soup (I say most as I've been charged for one before and was gobsmacked), but Hao Phong actually had chunks of meat and veggies in theirs which is quite generous for free soup. They also have amazing fried tofu as an entree dish.

I am a regular at this place and it never disappoints! Am a sucker for their noodle soups, crispy chicken and my most favourite is their salt and pepper squid! Always leave feeling full and satisfied! The claypot rice is also simply delicious especially the burnt crunchy parts. The broken rice here is one of the best I've ever had. I've been recommending this place to friends over the years and they are always impressed.

This place is definitely our go-to restaurant in Footscray. The food is reasonably-priced and delicious! Just thinking about the fried quail entree makes my mouth water. My partner and I have tried many restaurants in the area and while there are many good ones, this place remains the sand out for good Vietnamese food when you're in the mood for something other than pho. #reviewtowin

Reasonably busy restaurant at all times in footscray, no matter what day of the week. The food priced are reasonable, the service is quick and there is a diverse range of options in Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a full dine they could accommodate this. Have been here on numerous occasions, the food is great and customize to meet western taste.
