I purchased what I thought was a quality apple pie from this shop, the brand is Bowman Island, their so called grandma pie, 1 kg of it. I have never tasted a pie so bad, frankly, it is in fact tasteless except for the large amount of spices (cinnamon dominating) covering all the other tastes, including the apples (of the not so ripe nor adapted to a pie variety) and the butter lacking -whatsoever- in their dough (it is the expensive bit...). Some baker do not take any pride in what they bake but worse, some shops sell those products of inferior quality: they should not (until the recipe has been revised).
My family and I nearly always shop at Harris Farm, but from now on, I will be doing everything I can to avoid going back into that store! All I wanted to buy was strawberries, but I was rudely talked to by a person at the front of the store (the one who always yells about the specials) who seemingly refused to let me buy the strawberries that I chose myself, pushing me to buy other ones, which didn't look as appealing. They said the other ones were cheaper, but I found they didn't look as good, so I told them I would prefer to buy the more expensive ones. They then proceeded to rudely state to me that I knew nothing about fruit and how they own the store and 50 other ones. The last time I checked I was a customer, and I should be able to buy what I want without being talked at rudely. I actually was so offended by the way they talked to me, tears were in my eyes!
