Bought an acer aspire v5 laptop from HN Hobart as it was advertised as having a base speed 2.5ghz i7 processor but returned it the following due to it only having a 2.0 ghz. Initially the sales staff tried to fob me of when i tried to return the acer by saying that the advertised speed was accurate as it was the speed that the laptop with intels turbo boost feature was theoretically capable of reaching. After around 10 minutes of discussion with me pointing out that that was not the case and i knew what i was talking about, the sales staff went and spoke to their management who agreed to exchange the laptop for one with higher specs for no extra charge. Overall happy that they provided me with a replacement laptop that met my requirements, but annoyed that they initially tried to fob me off when trying to return a product that doesn't deliver on its promisses.
Have been to Harvey Norman Glenorchy, Hobart and Rosny (now Cambridge). All stores have a great range of products and offer a range of purchase options.
Return of goods procedure is simple and hassle free.
The only problem experienced in all stores has been with the younger staff in electronic and computer sections who display less knowledge and more conviction about the products they sell. Unfortunately, I've had to return products as a result of this misinformation.
I purchased a tv and Xbox with the 40 months interest free plan. The service was great. One thing you should be aware of when buying from the store, especially the city one, is that each department operates independantly when it comes to certain things. I had to do two seperate transactions for my items because one was from electrical and the other was from computing. Slightly annoying but when it all boils down to it you cannot beat the service, sales and the interest free deals! I will definitely deal with this store again!!!
