Hatherley House
Hatherley House is a classically hip hotel located in Launceston, northern Tasmania.It is an elegant blending of Georgian architecture, 21st century design and Tasmanian, Asian and European artworks. The original home was built in 1830 and is surrounded by a heritage-listed garden with views of Ben Lomond to the southeast. You have the choice of four superior and five deluxe suites. The superior suites: The Ballroom, The Oriental, The Romantic and The French Empire. The Deluxe Suites vary in size and are not themed but in each you will find inspirational, clever design. In some rooms, to maintain the integrity of the original architecture, the contemporary bathroom is enclosed in a translucent glass box. In others they are hidden behind the Tasmanian timber bed heads. The house is full of quirky little surprises: a winding staircase, hidden passages and unexpected balconies.
