Hawks Nest Takeaway

The fish in chips there were very average, the chips were old and soggy and for the price of $7 for a small amount I expected better. The gravy is great though!

Holidaying in the summer up this way often calls for a nice cooling treat. The milkshakes and thick shakes here are simply sensational! After having one, we went back for more, day after day during our stay at Hawks Nest. The whole family loves it!

Given that this place isn't huge, their menu is impressive - and cheaper than you'd expect for a country town. Had tea here for about $35, their burger with the lot was delicious (though I'm not sure that carrot really needed to be there), schnitzel burger was good, calamari rings weren't overcooked at all, nor were the nuggets - which is a good sign. Huge serve of chips for the price - though they were a bit heavy on the chicken salt, next time I'll ask for a 'light serving' I think.
