HDRC Services
Sharing the CaringHDRC Services is a not for profit organisation that has a 30 year history of successfully establishing respite services for people with dementia and people with disabilities.
Respite is one of the key support services that helps strengthen the relationship between the people with dementia or disability and their carer and plays an important role in ensuring that people remain and are supported in the community for as long as possible.
For people with dementia we take-over the caring role and operate four centred-based care facilities for the Port Macquarie-Hastings area. Our two main centres are Morton Street and Greenmeadows in Port Macquarie and these are facilities designed specifically for people with dementia. Our other centres in Wauchope and Laurieton are shared with other community groups. We currently service 350 people with dementia each year.
For people with disabilities we provide a number of programs that cover respite and leisure.
