Had a solenoid in my gas system fail in my 2003 Toyota Land cruiser about 1km away from the mechanic workshop, charged me $114 to tow the car to the mechanics, I should have pushed it. $230 to inspect the car in which after they charged another $140 for the EFI solenoid (located in the fuse box) replacement in which they claimed was from the wreckers because there was a one day wait on the part from Sydney. After the car was picked up it immediately failed again once reaching home. After contacting them they claimed that they had repaired the car and it was no longer their issue or responsibility. After contacting another mechanic the issue turned out to be another solenoid directly related to the gas conversion located on the other side of the engine bay which was significantly cheaper and easily fixed.
