Helga's Hideaway

I've recently come back for a weekend away with the mister after coming for stays when I was a kid - it hasn't aged a day and has retained it's otherworldly charm.

My favourite part of the cottage would have to still be the big and beautiful bathtub which overlooks paddocks and trees (a real isolated, country feel to it).

Note there's no television, which we found to add to the getaway aspect to it - although that might be a deal-breaker to some.

Also we've always personally loved the dog(s), who followed us on walks along the gardens/lake on the grounds - very friendly and good with children.

After over ten years it's still my favourite getaway from the city, and close enough to the beach to go surfing in the warmer months - if you're in the area I also highly recommend the Middleton Bakery also (best bakery in the country in my opinion).

Over priced, needs a good clean and very uncomfortable (bed awful!). Our privacy was invaded as their dog was in our cottage when we went out for the day although we locked all the doors - they must have came in to check when we were out! Extremely disappointed.
