The award-winning Hermitage Lodge is a boutique style motel, nestled on 25 picturesque acres in the heart of the Hunter Valley. It is within walking distance of many of the area’s popular wineries and tourist attractions. Hermitage Lodge has 20 studios and suites, offering personal, attentive service rarely found today. The rooms are large, comfortable and tastefully decorated with a great deal of attention to detail. 11 of these rooms, a mix of studios and suites, were built in early 2006. All 20 rooms have beautiful verandahs, overlooking the Lodge’s own Shiraz vineyard.The Lodge also has a very successful licensed restaurant, Il Cacciatore, which is only a short stroll along the terrace. Lovely clean, spacious room, well priced including in-room brekky. Can upgrade to a cooked breakfast, but only served 8-10 am and unfortunately I had to leave earlier.
Lovely place to sit out on the back deck and have a quiet drink overlooking the vines.
The in-house Italian restaurant is definitely worth a visit too!
Will be back, hopefully for longer next time!
A very nice place with great service from smiling beaming happy and friendly wait staff.
Unfortunately they mixed up our meal orders initially and the food was good - but not what i expected given their 'award wining' status. Despite being in wine country, the wait staff weren't really too familiar with providing advice on the wine list which seemed a bit odd actually.
In the end, this was a great place to have what felt like a home-cooked meal from very friendly locals, but perhaps not the wine country culinary experience we had been hoping for.
