I would honestly walk before hiring a car from this company again on the 8th of October 2014 I walked into the office to hire a car for 1 day it cost me $195 + a bond of $100 I used my visa Debit Card which contains my own money. the next day after returning the car which I had for a total of 15 hours I check my account I notice Hertz took an amount which was about $50 more I waited a couple more days to see how much would be returned to my account to my horror they took another $651.00 it has now been 10 days since hiring this car still haven't got my money back and a total of nearly $1000 gone. Each time I phone they say they are returning the funds well not good enough they took at least $650 from my account which they have no explanation for they also told me they charged me $30 for returning my car early this is a fee they have when you book a car then return it earlier. Hertz is the worst company we've ever dealt with. After returning our hire car completely undamaged, we had $3800 taken from our account, even though excess was limited to $3200. Over a month later we have received no documentation of the damage and they're still being extremely difficult. Hurtz hurts!!!
Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Called from Brisbane airport to let them know I was on my way but I arrived 3mins past closing time (3:03pm) to find store shut and lights off. The staff came out and explained that I was too late and that I couldn't pick up my car. My efforts were useless even after pleading with the manager and explaining that our luggage had been lost and we needed to travel over 2hrs to our accom. They both repeated that it was company policy to not allow customers who are late to rent cars and that even if they wanted to they 'couldn't open the doors" or "turn on the computers again". They offered no help in trying to find me an alternative car or even point me in the direction of the bus stop. I couldn't/can't believe that people could be so cold about the situation. I will never hire from Hertz again.
