Hicks Automotive & Exhaust Centre

Last year, I had Hicks replace my inlet manifold & valley gaskets due to oil leaking out of the valley gasket(s) and oil getting into the coolant (no, it wasn't a blown head gasket, this is a common problem with ECOTEC/V6 Commodore engines). Not a drop of oil has leaked since and no vacuum leaks, so they did the job properly. *Just a tip - if you have leaky inlet manifold gaskets, make sure you use the metal ones to replace them, or they will fail again down the track (original are plastic).

I will be using Hicks Automotive from now on for all my servicing needs. I just had a few things done and was shocked at the bill...shocked at how cheap it was! Also fantastic customer service - I was offered a lift home after dropping off my car, but didn't need it. I was however picked up from home to collect my car, saving a taxi fare. I can't recommend Hicks Automotive highly enough. Thanks Hicks Automotive, I'll be back!

AWFUL. Ive never written one of these reviews before but I was moved to through the service and poor communication processes in this business. Argumentative people, and if they werent deceptive they were certainly economical with the truth. Tried to charge me over DOUBLE the cost of what I was quoted by 2 other businesses in area, then carried out work WITHOUT PERMISSION - and when I called them on it they ARGUED with me (but then changed the price when they saw I had them).

Great service! Ran into trouble in Lithgow on the way home to Sydney. The first mechanic tried to gouge me with a ridiculous price. I had it sent over to Hicks and he charged well within the range he estimated and was comparable to other mechanic's quotes. He also serviced it very quickly and told me about a few other things I needed to watch out for. Overall a great experience.

Just before Xmas 13, i was traveling down Vic Pass in my camper truck when I blew the exhaust in two...stopped at Lake Lyell and next morning rang Hicks to see what they could do, 'just bring it over and we'll have a look'. Hicks got a mechanic onto the job immediately and was all fixed within the hour...try getting that service in Sydney plus half Sydney price. Highly recommended country service in all respects!
