The service there is absolutely amazing! Pete the owner has been the most helpful mechanic i ever had to deal with. I have been really unlucky with my campervan but very lucky to find him. He went the extra mile every time without even asking. I highly recommend this place!

Very knowledgeable guys, good price and great attention to detail. That's the most important factor for me. Better-than-dealership attention to detail for less-than-dealership prices from ex dealership foremen. Will go back.

Terrible service. The first day they had my car I was told they would call at lunch time to update me. At 3pm I had to call them as had heard nothing. I was assured my car would be ready to pick up at 4pm. When I got there I had to wait over 30 minutes for them to finish as well as another 10 minutes for them to work out how to print the invoice! The second day they had my car, the service was no better.

How's the price and the work itself?

The experience cost me a lot more than I expected.

What do you mean the experience cost you? You do realise that nearly all mechanics do what you've just described, it's impossible to always estimate a perfect finishing time for a job. A lot of mechanics, dealerships or else, will ask to keep the car overnight. I've been to many mechanics over the years to tell good from bad - so in your experience how was their price compared to another mechanic for the identical job? Or have you never had an identical job performed elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

I would not recommend that any tries to get a roadworthy certificate from this business. They told me that I needed 2 new rear tyres as the tread pattern was different on each, however after contacting vic roads, I was able to clarify that this is not a road worthy criteria. Licensed testers should know this and not be wasting my time with this sort of stuff.

VicRoads say a lot of things but the RWC testers act out of their own criteria. It's usually not because they're trying to make money off you, but because your car isn't safe. It doesn't sound like they overcharged you for tyres, either so why give them a bad rep, when your car isn't safe?

And do you honestly believe that having different tyres from side to side is roadworthy? Have you heard of brake bias, even wear, unequal loss of traction?

The point is that the mechanic should not be acting upon their own criteria, as they have the rules set out by the authority (in this case, vicroads) that they should follow. This allows consistency across RWC testers and ensures all cars are safe. All Tyres have a grip rating these days, so as long as that is the same on each side, then the actual pattern doesn't really matter.

The point is - how many RWC testers have you been to? They're the one's who will get sued if the work isn't up to scratch. Not Vicroads, who are just agents on the phone, not licensed mechanics. I really wish it was the way you say, I was in the same boat when told to replace a seemingly good windscreen at a different shop. Unfortunately you have to admit that both me and you would be biased to side with the option that costs us less ...read more

I agree with one 1jb.
Different tyre treads should be fine. If a mechanic is picking that up in a road worthy, go with someone else.

Excellent service, great prices and very helpful. Went out of their way to explain exactly what was wrong with my car and how they were going to fix it, and after they had discovered the problem wasn't as bad as they thought they rang me and told me it would cost me $300 less than quoted.
