Hillston Caravan Park

We stayed for a week whilst working nearby. Our cabin was very basic and relatively clean apart from the floor and a horrible smell that took a few days to air out. Due to the basic nature of the park I'd have rated it 3 stars, however on our second to last day we washed our clothes in the communal laundry and when they were finished we found our clothes on the floor, we used a basket that was on the side (every place we have lodged at in Australia has had baskets for use in the laundry rooms). Immediately after walking to our lodge the person that works there came storming over shouting a mouthful of abuse at us for using their personal washing basket - in the midst of our apologies and their cursing and hurling more abuse they also told us that it was them who took our clothes out of the washing machine and decided to drop them on the floor (this was for no reason whatsoever as there was two empty washers next to our as well as a bench they could have ...read more

Stayed for one night. The park was clean, the cabins comfortable but very basic, although the stay didn't cost a lot of money. The lady who runs the park is fantastic has an excellent sense of humor and easy to talk to. A great place to pull up for a night. Hillstone is a very small town, but all the people were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that brought my experience down was that it is advertised to have a kiosk, which it doesn't and if you arrive late you will have trouble finding a place open to buy milk for your coffee. The park does not supply tea, coffee or milk. And with the kiosk not running, there is no place to buy dinner if you arrive late. Otherwise it was a very nice place to stay.
