I went in there to buy a Stihl bruchcutter. They talked me out of it and sold me a very expensive inferior brand (Honda). I should never have let that happen. It was a mistake. The thing never worked properly, and despite taking it back in the past they've never been able to fix it. Last week i took it in and asked them to change the petrol cap, a very simple repair which i know Honda will authorise under warranty. I specifically told them not to spend a cent on it. Now they are refusing to give it back unless i pay $120 for carby repairs that I deliberately told them NOT to go ahead with. Even though it's junk, its my property and refusing to let me have it back is tantamount to stealing in my view. Do not deal with them.
MY partner and I have bought a fair bit of equipment from hinterland mowers and this includes a Stihl 291 Chainsaw, a second- hand John Deere Gator, a Stihl wiper snipper and a Sulo spraypack. John Deere Gator is another story. It is a good second-hand unit, purchased for a good price and we rely on this machine on a daily basis to get work done. The first and second problems we have had relates to the electricals. The battery has gone flat about three times. The first time this was taken away under warranty. The cause was put down to dirty battery terminals. Apparently these were cleaned. (if they were it was not done well). This problem has never been fixed and possibly relates to the problem with the lights. We ordered additional headlights which were put on the top cage. These are not working. The third device that we have purchased from Hinterland is a Stihl wiper sniper. The machine was brought in with a noise that should not be present. One of the technicians correctly diagnosed the problem as being a ben bat. The repair was quoted at something like two hundred or three hundred dollars. The machine was still under warranty and we asked them if they could try to get this fixed under warranty. They said no without even trying to act in the best interests of his customers. As good as it gets in the Mower business. I hadn't been to a mower shop for years and couldn't believe my eyes when I first walked inside Hinterland Mowers. It's HUGE, very clean and modern and very professional. Not to mention everything you need is right there. Very satisifed customer!
I found Hinterland Mowers excellent to deal with. They provided me with great service and the people there are extremley helpful.
I purchased a ride on mower and catcher and had no idea what I was looking for but after going round other mower businesses, I found Hinterland Mowers the best for advice and for price.
