As a japanese person, i never understood the hype of teppanyaki. Every teppanyaki place I have been to was all about the gimmicks of throwing food around and being entertained by the chef, but never really thought the food was that great. Well, Hisshou is another one of those places. Had a super entertaining chef making us being on edge whilst he chuck eggs and rice and plates at you, but I wasn't that impressed with the actual quailty of the food. Some of the meat that he has cooked up was pretty good, but they all taste exactly the same because they use the same sauce on everything. Great when you're in a big group and want to have a laugh, probs not that great if you're expecting
Had a really great dinner here with a really entertaining chef to prepare our meals. It's such a great change of traditional dinner plans to see your meat seasoned in front of you and sliced and displayed with such skill. It's nice and interactive and you have fun during dinner. They also make sake cocktails which were the first time I heard of it but were so nice and fruity when mixed.
A captivating and interactive dining experience to be had here. This entertaining restaurant is on George Street.
Eager diners are settled into their seats around the massive teppanyaki grills and meal is like dinner and a show all rolled into one. We had a multi course dinner. The highlights were fried rice course which involved a lot of catching (and missing) items like the egg and rice. The flaming of the teppanyaki beef was a sight to behold as well.
It's a nice place to eat with a group of friends, family or work colleagues. The couples seemed. slightly out of place due to the laughter that came from all the groups thus not making this the most romantic of places. You will have a fun time especially the interaction with the hilarious chefs!
