After checking the Hobbyco web site for stock I visited the Rhodes store in NSW at 9am to purchase a Showman steam engine.
After saying that I had checked the website for stock the staff then explained in a rude and sarcastic manner as though I was requiring special needs that if item is at the city and it can not be in three different locations at the same time!!!.
No respect, no customer service, no offer to have the item sent to the store, no enquiry at the other store to check stock.
The other staff stood smirking at this attempt to ridicule me and even waved as I left the store.
Contacting the company management is of no assistance as they do not reassure you that the matter has been dealt they would rather inform you of a difference of the story by the staff.
A offer of being looked after was made but I am not after a discount and would of preferred customer service.
Horrible place to shop
Let's face it: there are not that many dedicated hobby stores in suburban shopping centres catering to plastic, railway modellers and R/C fans to begin with, so if you're into the hobby and have one nearby, half your luck!
That said, this is a very good hobby store, from the same folks who have the big store in the QVB. Naturally the range is not quite as wide as this is an average store's side vs two floors in the QVB, but they do cram a lot in.
