Hog's Breath Café - Port Macquarie

I am a huge Hogs Breath fan, until I went for lunch with my family yesterday. The staff were very unprofessional and unattentive. They hurried us along with our ordering and looked annoyed while we took our time to order. The food was average and the place itself was very untidy. The toilets smelt and cleanliness was not a high priority. There was a huge cockroach on the wall behind us and our overall experience was not a good one. I'm sorryHogs Breath but we won't be back ??

Only place open for coffee after 9 ... Was quiet for a Friday but coffee was nice

I have been to hogs breath many of time and had a lovely time, but today when I went to lunch with my sister and my young nephew it was the worst lunch I have had in my life, the staff were very rude and unprofessional they looked like they had just rolled out of bed and really didn't want to be there, after being seated it took 20mins before they even took a drink order, then after our order was taken it took another 10minutes to get our drinks. Then my nephew accidentally knocked over his glass of apple juice and smashed the glass the staff walked past and didnt stop until I stopped one who didn't know what to do and seemed very phase and confused of what was going on, they didn't even pick up all the glass or even ask if me or my nephew were ok :/ shattered if we had cut ourself after they didn't pick the broken glass up my sister ended up picking it up and putting it on her plate after she was finished because she was concerned for her child's safety and anyone ...read more

Food: Perfect, huge variety and most tastes catered for. Generous servings and amazing flavour. They're also happy to make changes to suit my dietary requirements. :)



Price: Entrees starting from about $6. Mains starting from about $12, through to $35 for the fancy plates. Deals for kids. Drinks are naturally pricey but I think the meals make it more than worth it.



Service: Fast, friendly, enthusiastic. They do tend to hover a bit and I've had them try to take my plate a few times before I was finished.



Note on Parking: It can be hard to get a park just outside the door. However, even on the busiest nights you're still guaranteed parking a block away in the old food for less car park on Short St.

Central location. Parking can be hard to find nearby, especially on a Friday / Saturday night. Food and drinks are very pricey! Food however was very tasty, you cant go past hogs breath for a great steak, always cooked to perfection exactly the way you have asked for it to be cooked. The place is quirky and has some 'interesting' decorations going on, but that just ads to the character.
