Holy Grail Restaurant & Bar

Since the last review, this restaurant must have have a change of chef as the food that we had recently was better than the usual pub fare. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the steak that my partner had was too. The service was average to begin with but improved throughout dinner. It was a week night so couldn't say what they are like when they are busy. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and would definitely return.

The service as far as drinks goes is fine - if you don't want anything beyond basic spirits. The food aspect however is poor, with my food (a basic steak) being tough & overdone.
They could do with more live music too, or a more diverse playlist of CDs.

As far as a pubmay go, I don't think they do too bad, but for their venture into food, it is best left alone. You'd only expect the basics from pub food, but the meat we had was over cooked and became tough. I also didn't think much of the vegies that were served.
My tip for them would be to tone back the food aspect and bring on some live music - Kingston has next to none these days.
