After hearing so much about them, a few of us made the treck up from mandurah to see what all the fuss was about! This place is amazing..just like I would imagine Alladins cave, stocked to the roof with beautiful, unique dress fabrics and upholstery! Youll need a good few hours just to go through the huge store, Definitely Perths best fabric store, I just wish there was one in Mandurah or that they had an online store!
This shop is not worth the trip. The management is really rude. The quality of their products is poor and sometimes faulty. I've given them go for many years but the last straw was trying to exchange a zip because it was faulty. The management wouldn't exchange or refund it even though I had my reciept and instead told me that I knew the quality of their zips. I guess it is my fault for going back.
I've just come back from this store and as always it was a fantastic experience. All the staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I bought everything I went for and a few extras :) I will probably be going in a week or so. They have so many bargains during their annual sale.
This is such a terrific shop for fabrics and trimmings at the best prices in Perth. I'm a costume creator and I am constantly sourcing my fabrics from either the dress fabrics or the furnishings. It's a wonderful shop for doing shows (or just doing up the house) on a budget and when they have a sale the prices are phenomenal. I have bought triple velvet there at $12.99 a meter when NOT on sale!! I also don't think I've seem this vast a variety of trimmings in all my fabric travels.
Their sales usually occur in April/May for about 4-6 weeks and people swarm there in droves so get onto their mailing list fast!
They are also very kid friendly and seem to love my two littlies even though they get a little out of hand sometimes. Congrats to the staff and management (who all, at some time or another, seem to man the cash register or the fabric desks) for this great shop and their very homely and knowledgeable help and advice.

Being a loyal and satisfied patron of Homecraft for the last decade, I was inclined to investigate sew4fun's comments. I just got back from the store this morning. As always they have a wide range of unique and exotic fabrics, in addition to your stock standard satins, cottons, silk, priced well below spotlight and other competitors. The staffs as always was attentive and courteous, when i got to the cash register the man at the till was friendly, had a conversation with me and offered me a coffee. As always I left Homecraft completely satisfied with the product, price and service I received. I'm inclined to support greysilks original review 100%. In regard to the opening hours, I've been shopping at homecraft since they opened, opening hours have always been 9-5 on weekdays and 9-4 on Saturday. The sign was clearly visible from the road. I think sew4fun may have got this store confused for another. Will I be going back...Definitely :)
