This place is okay, but certainly not one of the best. It is actually a pretty small hotel though the bar is really only one part of it because it appears to be an actual hotel where you can rent out rooms. The have a small smokers area out the back, a bottle shop, and a room full of pokie machines (not that I ever go into any of them I'm not a big fan of pokies machines). They say that they are open 24 hours but I do wander about the whole 1:00 am lockout laws these days and whether you can actually wander into this place at any hour of the night. It's never been all that crowded when I have been here, and has a nice laid back atmosphere, however as I have suggested it is really only a place if you want a quiet drink after a heavy night out, not that you can really do that these days.
Definitely, not your average pub...I have been to a few private functions held here and have been impressed every time.
The portion sizes are very generous with entrees of tandoori chicken, seafood basket and stuffed field mushroom many guests thought the entree was the main. Mains included steak and chips with mushroom or pepper sauce, marinated chicken breast or a salmon fillet. The table then gets a shared portion of steamed vegetables and garden salad. To say the least not many people we able to finish their meal. There is also a large private bar if you book out the whole top floor stocked with a wide selection liqueurs and beers.
