This is more of trendy bar than somewhere family friendly, which was a shame of a thing to find out after we were here. Prices are ok for nicely-made-up-sounding dishes, but no kids menu or really more than a couple of options that most kids would like. More like a trendy bar, if that's what you're looking for it might be a good choice.
On the positive side the food we had was tasty, especially the kangaroo steak which had this fantastic jus and a very unique crunchy topping. The atmosphere was hip too, though there's not more than about 10 tables so not great for bigger groups. Service was fast, and the waitress was friendly - chatted to our kids about what they'd like or not like and they did make some changes to the dishes for them. But at about $100 for the 4 of us without drinks included I won't be back with the family.
I do really like this place, have come here a few times for after work drinks and whatnot, but was my first time coming here for lunch the other day. The menu had 'quick lunch fixes' and had $15 options which was very enticing, especially for the place. Unfortunately though that quick lunch fix wasn't as quick a service as I was expecting so it resulted with me instead quickly scoffing down my lunch meal. I ordered the haloumi and pumpkin salad which was really nice and fresh but just took a while to come out, this is probably because of the burger my workmate ordered. The wait was about 20 minutes and it wasn't that busy either there. I would still come back though for the pumpkin and haloumi salad, just hope that it won't take as long next time.
I'm really not all that sure about this pub. There are two levels, the basement which is full to the brim with pokie machines, and the first floor, which looks like some really exclusive gastro pub (well, looks like is probably not a appropriate word, namely because it is). I've been here a few times for lunch with friends and I must say the menu selection was minimal and the prices quite steep. In fact I got to the point that whenever that had lunch here I simply didn't turn up. I've also been here at night when it turns into a typical bar, or should I say nightclub. It is still fairly pricey, and the balcony gets over crowded. The last time I visited, I ended up walking out, knowing that there are much better pubs in Adelaide to spend time and my money, and also have an atmosphere that is more to my liking.
Have come here for parties, drinks, to hang out and most recently for a work function. It was great. The service from the lovely staff and professionalism. The canape's were really good and tasty as well! Really nice set up, great place to go for any of the above I've been here for.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat at lunch, not knowing what to expect. It kind of blew us away when we walked upstairs to this huge cavernous stylish bar. It was quite busy even for a weekday lunch time. We ordered chicken salad from the lunch specials, thinking it wouldn't take long and bought a drink to wait... and wait... and wait. It was quite peasant and comfy sitting on the balcony overlooking Rundle Mall though, and a street performer kept us entertained. Forced into another drink after we'd finished our first and still were waiting, the charming bar staff let us have the second drinks for half price. Even she was embarrassed by how long it was taking. It finally turned up with apologies for how busy they were, and it was very tasty, even though it was verging on the dinner hour by the time we ate it.
