Just opened Hottomotto is one of Japan’s most popular bento box outlets. It is pretty much the Japanese lunch box. So versatile and so many delicious and nutritious options to choose. 14 choices! You can enjoy it by dining in, take it away to a nice outdoor location or dare I say it, if you are under the pump at work you can eat it at your desk. Great range of Japanese foods, curries and rice!
It is in The Galeries Victoria food court.
Harking back to their traditional Japanese roots, they serve many varieties of bento boxes. The bento box is a versatile food item. It is a container that has compartments for different types of food but typically a serving of meat, vegetables or salad, rice, and other condiments. Typically eaten by office workers at their desks and seen frequently at train stations before one takes a long train journey in Japan.
We were offered a bento box with rice and we could select a variety to 'mix n match' what we wanted to eat. The food was extremely tasty and the service was hospitable and reminiscent of Japan. Favourites included the omelette, chicken teriyaki, and pork katsu.
I am sure this will be a popular lunch place as the food is yummy and will be a quick option.
