I had a poor banking experience here. I came in to open a new bank account and there were 5 staff members at the teller counter not serving any customers and two customers in the line ahead of me who wanted to speak to a customer service officer. I was told the wait time would be 40minutes. It is hard to see how all these idle staff members can be sitting behind the customer when there are other customers milling around the branch waiting to be served. Customer service is not a priority here.
I've been banking with HSBC since I arrived in Australia. They're pretty good, and I wasn't actively interacting with their customer service department, both in the venue or in the call center. However, I always get into long queue whenever I try to do some banking stuffs. Good interest rates though.
