Came here with high expectations as a Japanese friend recommended this place
We ordered a little of everything

Sushi: a little better than other places but nothing stood out
The eel didn't have much taste
The fish egg sushi was very salty
Sashimi was nice but standard stuff

Tempura and Tofu were standard stuff

The place is small so you better book ahead
Prices are what I expected
Food came out a little faster than expected

LOVE LOVE this place, best sushi bar in Sydney is my opinion.... sit at the sushi bbar & watch them make it FRESH. their soft shell crab rolls are the best ive ever had. funny thing is this place is 5 minutes from my home & it was introduced to me by someone who drives an hour to eat here.

Hukuya is a quiet little corner restaurant opposite Eastwood station (on the 'Korean' side, to be politically incorrect). They serve really fresh sushi made in front of you. You can sit along the sushi bar counter and chat to to guys making sushi, or grab a table. They only have three tables which seat 4 people, so it's not the best place to come with a big group.

The quality of food is always consistent. I like coming here (or getting takeaway) if I want a quick weeknight dinner. When I do eat in, I usually try to book a table if there are more than a couple of us having dinner. They are pretty busy, so they will ask you to eat and leave within the hour.
