It's hard to write anything negative about a place that is founded on the need to rescue Australia's native wildlife. So let me talk about the positives: Cheap entry (literally $2), open spaces, passionate volunteers, and a long history that tells me they're genuine. They clearly live on a shoestring too.
On the negative side, it's not the prettiest place to visit (although it is genuinely 'bush' if that's what you like), the enclosures and paths could do with some TLC - especially given that I visited on their open day and paths were blocked by uncleared trees etc. BTW on that, this isn't a great place to take kids in strollers as it's not easily accessible. It's also not a great place to go and actually feed or pet animals, they're largely in cages or roped off areas. It's an 'ok' place to go and see animals though.
Having said that, they do well what they are set up to do and that's worth 4 *'s.
