Hyde Park Barracks Cafe

Delightful city cafe, available even if you have not just been through the museum, which is something i also recommend. Fair prices, and tasty foods, a little oasis in the middle of the city. Give it a try !

I had a very enjoyable business lunch here on a beautiful Sydney day. Located so close to Martin Place, it's very easy and handy for lunch on a work day. The menu is not extensive, but the food is good. My companion and I shared the trio of dips, on this day they served Beetroot & Goats Cheese; Carrot & Coriander and a Pumpkin dip. Very nice. My companion's main was the Salmon and Swimmer Crab Omelette, while I had the King Prawns, with a garden salad. The prawns were beautifully prepared and cooked (served cold) with a bed of leaves, avocado, tomato and dressing was very nice. Garden salad was a good size and fresh. Good coffee, very friendly service and the timing was fine - about 75 minutes for lunch. A nice place.

After you have taken stroll through the Hyde Park Barracks Museum treat yourself to lunch at the Barracks Cafe - you won't be disappointed. Fantastic location, great seating layout with inside and outside dining. Efficient and friendly service and a nice selection of menu items offering both a delightful breakfast and lunch menu. Reasonable prices given its location and a bonus for visiting friends or family or if you just want to get out for the day and enjoy the sunshine - they are open weekends.
