Really nice place to go for a walk during your lunch break or even to sit down on the pretty manicured grass.

Okay, this place may be nowhere near as magnificent as its namesake in London, but it still is pretty cool. In fact it is probably more like a baby brother version of Central Park in New York (not that I've ever been to New York, but that is beside the point). Anyway, two of the four sides are surrounded by skyscrapers, which on the Eastern side you have the Museum and St Mary's Cathedral. However this just isn't a simply park with grass and trees but rather one of those parks full of monuments and a variety of gardens. In act it didn't matter how much time I spent here I always seemed to find something new. You will find the NSW War Memorial here, but on the side opposite it there is this really cool fountain with a number of Greek mythical gods and heroes adorning it. It is a great place to spend the morning, and there have even been times when I would grab a cup of tea and just sit here on one of the benches tapping away at my lap top killing time ...read more

A large beautiful park in the middle of the CBD.

It's a nice place to relax and have your lunch or just have a stroll around.

The park is famous for it's Archibald fountain and the ANZAC War Memorial - Which is free to visit as well. They also have beautiful garden area and a tree walkway.

It's definitely a place to go if you're visiting Sydney.

Hyde Park is quite a nice place in the centre of Sydney. It is very heavily used and it is often, unfortunately, a little worse for ware. That said - there are some really nice things like the memorial, the fountain and the sculptures. It is a big area and you can wander around.

I don't love the seedy cafe near museum. I feel like it could be a much nicer area.

I also don't really like the chess set area because it seems a bit 'groce'.

Still - nice enough.

Hyde Park is a really lovely spot in central Sydney. There's a very serene ANZAC memorial with great picture opportunities and a view of the Westfield Tower on the skyline. Great to stop for lunch or to watch the world go by and get away from the bustle of the CBD.
