Ichi-ban Boshi Japanese Noodle Shop

This shop is legit. The service is efficient and courteous. More importantly the Ramen is the best on the coast! (or at least the second best depending on who you talk to). The selection is not "wide" but that's very true to a japanese ramen shop anyway. If you want something that tastes like you bought it from a store in Japan, go here.
To respond to all the poor customer service reviews - I have gone to this shop countless times, and have never witnessed poor service; the only instances of poor service I have heard of, have been when customers have over-stepped bounds, such as moving tables without asking, or eating food from else where in their store.

Food is ok, but have they got the worst staff/management in the world or what. They all have serious attitude problems. 3 of us went there on a later ish night (8:00pm) there was only 2 tables in the restaurant. we ordered and sat down. then we bumped into a old friend walking past, she came in, sat down and was having a short conversation with us, then....... The staff spotted her, staff came rushing over telling her if she is not ordering, she cannot seat in the restaurant. I totally understand if it was busy and if she sat on a empty table. but to tell a friend of ur customer to get out when there is no one there. Really? Who do they think they are. They have just lost a long time loyal customer, will never go back there again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear all. please read and share this. Today I went to the Japanese restaurant ichiban boshi in southport and was so disappointed by the quality of customer service there. Not only the staff there didnt take my order correctly(which is totally understandable)and when I complained when the food came out the management comes along takes away the food in the middle of me eating.

Never ever going there again.

It is my honestly held believe that all of these bad reviews are one person who is just being horrid. I have been eating at Ichiban consistently (up to two or three times a week when I was living at Southport Central) for years now. The staff are kind and accommodating and go above and beyond to work around any language issues. The food is ALWAYS tasty, consistent and quick to arrive. The lady who I assume is the owner/manager is always smiling and waves at regulars. I have rearranged tables there and had up to 10 people at their small cafe (not all eating and some eating burgers) and the staff have been very kind about accommodating such a large party in a small restaurant. I encourage people to ignore the reviews which ALL seem to point to similar scenarios and give this place a try. Yes they dont have eftpos and no they dont have a/c stop being such a skirt and just enjoy the food!
