This IGA ( the "I" stands for "independent " which means they can choose what goes into the store, and for what it's worth, this one is known as Romeo's IGA....well, Romeo, i
Love your shop, it was always good and had fair prices considering the convenient location.
Recently the shop expanded and now is at least twice the size as before. There's a massive deli and even a walk-in cheese room, yes, a cheese room! Serious cheeses in there,
I picked up a jar of Meredith goats cheese as it was a special price.
I felt like I was in France, the choice was huge. Also lots of good grocery, bakery and fruit and veg items.
They do specials and quick-sale prices for perishables.
Really worth a look, and they even sell Opal cards here, so much quicker than lining up with everyone else at the station machine, come to IGA and get a new Opal Card, cheese and wine at the adjoining wine shop, happiness under one roof.
To be honest I'm kind of disappointed by this IGA... I was hoping for a stand out deli section or some nice fresh breads. It seems kind of dime a dozen.... Not like some of the more gourmet IGA stores around. Location is very convenient right near North Sydney a Station.
There is a nearby supermarket that TrueLocals, truly go to and even line up before it opens on the weekend.
Prices are more reflective of a Seven11 rather than a supermarket. But then again it has more variety and it's proximity to the the North Sydney train station is everything. Some specials which are nice, but generally I would try and avoid this place as it's a bit of a rip off for a Supermarket. I have also found food past it's use by date more than once.
Walk a bit further, wait a little longer, but get better variety and save enough its worth the effort.
