Just went to our local IGA Romeo Store at Martins Road, Parafield Gardens and must say am quite angered by the experience... I have been very loyal to IGA, even favoring them over other big grocery outlets, however in recent times this particular store has shown NO customer service or thought beyond profit making endeavours. Firstly during the winter chills of the last two months the store has had no heating, and staff give conflicting excuses, but tell me the reason is because a staff member left heaters on all night for a period of time and they got a huge bill so now management wont turn heaters on at all. Why is the customer having bear the brunt of this persons neglect. Then today after doing a weekly shop I am told at the checkout that I had to pay $2.00 for the use of the trolley from store to my car, with no prior announcement or warning of this change to store policy. Then to add insult to this I was approached in the car park by a man who would like ...read more
Went to the store this evening Aug 13th, 2018. It was a cool windy evening at 7pm. Like a cold winters evening.... When I walked into IGA, it was actually colder inside the store than outside... It was so cold infact that if felt like I had walked into a large freezer. I grabbed what I urgently needed, and was looking forward to getting back outside into the winter night. I asked the staff member at the checkout if the heating was busted, his response was... "Oh it gets cold with the doors opening and with the freezer section..." My response to that was... "Well Coles and Woolworths have doors and freezer sections and they manage to keep the store warmer than outside." Are the managers at this store so tight with their money they refuse to put the heater on for customer or staff comfort and health. With the competive market what it is, do IGA really need to lose customers with their 'we don't give a toss attitude'.
This has been my local store for nearly 8 years now and I have found there has been a lot of good changes lately. The fruit and veg section is much fresher now and includes local
fresh herbs, plants at times and fresh flowers which is great. Prices are good as well. The service deli is always cheaper here beating out the multi national companies. I know I can shop at IGA fresh and not be worse off.
On the 30th October, I shopped at the IGA Parafield Gardens. A lovely young man served me and whilst chatting my handbag fell to the floor. I retrieved the contents finished the transaction and left. The following day I realised my prescription spectactles were missing. I rang the store and I was told nothing could be seen anywhere at the checkouts. I left my name and number. It was a "we don't care attitude". I went to the store myself and as I walking through the doors, there on the floor was the glasses case the counter. So disappointed in the staff lethargy for something so iportant to me for sight. Leanne Leo
