Iku Wholefood

Had a takeaway curry from this vego joint on Glebe pt rd, it was pretty good and the burgers on the menu looked tasty too. Not as cheap as some of the fairly similar Indian dahls etc nearby though

I first tried the Iku on Oxford Street but more frequently visit the one on Glebe Point Road. Iku is all about health, claiming to use organic and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Their meals focus on legumes, grains and vegetables, all dishes are dairy free, additive free, preservative free and free from genetic modification and many are wheat and gluten free. Whatever it is they use, I dont mind because it all tastes pretty good. It is so refreshing to be able to pop in and pick up some fast food that isnt bad for you. Their salads are amazing, their curries and soups are great in winter and they have all sorts of variations on rice balls that you cant go past for a quick energy hit. I usually get take-away but sometimes sit-in at the front window to people watch or out in the little courtyard at the back which is very pretty, though the flowers from the trees tend to drift into my food. Great organic food, try their Macro Burger with chilli sauce! will keep you full for hours. Rice balls and breakfast food options are also great.

Very tasty and healthy food. Not so good for dining in as designed for takeaway

A good place to buy healthy and delicious rice balls and other vegetarian and organic prepared foods. My favourite is their sago and lemon desert in a cup which has increasingly been showing up in local supermarkets. I've tried to make it at home but it never turns out quite as nice as theirs. The lemon pie with soy custard is good too.
